Frequently Asked Questions
How will fitness benefit my riding?
A rider in good physical condition will benefit by being able to:
Will you coach a non-horse person?
Fitness is beneficial to ANYONE, so YES!
How long will I need to commit?
The minimum commitment is 3-months. This is not to unnecessarily pad my bank account. I want my clients to get results. For that to happen, 12 weeks is the minimum amount of time required to help you adequately progress towards your health and fitness goals. It is very likely that your goals may take longer than 12 weeks to accomplish.
I also want my clients to solidify their new habits within their lifestyle so that they can maintain their results for the long haul! It is my mission to have you become truly independent in this process through time!
Can I still train with you After the 12 weeks?
Absolutely! In fact, it is what I recommend for most clients to reach their goals. I am happy to coach you for the next 20 years if it suits you!!
After the initial 12 weeks, you are eligible to go to month-to-month coaching at that point OR purchase the 6-month package for a discounted price!
Do I need to be a member of a gym?
I encourage people to have access to a gym for the sake of having a multitude of weight training equipment. However, it is NOT a requirement. I can program home-based workouts for you if that is your preference.
Do I need to purchase any equipment?
If you plan to only workout from home, it will be necessary to purchase a few small things – like a set of resistance bands. Likewise, you are always welcomed to substitute items already present within your home where applicable.
Do I need to download any software?
You will need to download the Ride Fit Life app, available for both Android and iPhone. There is also a link to the web-based version on my website.
The app will allow you to complete all the necessary activities, fill out forms, add results, take photos in the food diary, check off habits, video your exercise and assessment technique, and more!
If you elect to have macro-based nutritional coaching, rather than habit-based coaching, you will need to download MyFitnessPal app as well. It will conveniently sync with the Ride Fit Life app.
Do you write meal plans?
NO, meal plans typically don’t lead to long-term success anyhow. While they can really simplify things in the short-term, they are far too rigid to be realistic for the long haul. What happens when life throws you a curveball – like a party/event, you get sick, work late, or you just get…busy?
Meals plans do not teach you the skills necessary to survive “in the wild.” I want you to move and flex as much as your real life does, and STILL make progress! Plus, you will have developed healthy habits which will enable you to maintain your fitness when your diet period is over.
